SMALL GROUPS
The
purpose of the Small Group Ministry is to provide opportunities
for fellowship, encouragement, service and study throughout
the week in homes across the metropolitan area.
Small Groups meet in four boroughs and in New Jersey in order
for people to connect with others in their neighborhood (or
age range, as in the cases of the Young Professionals and
University Age groups). As our body grows larger, there is
less opportunity for relationship building in our corporate
assemblies; small groups are the forum in which deep friendships
can be fostered. Groups also provide a less formal setting
in which to nurture spiritual journey through the study of
the Bible (i.e., the Book of Colossians), inspirational books
(i.e., The Purpose Driven Life) or curriculum (i.e., Becoming
a Contagious Christian). Groups serve the congregation by
each preparing a fellowship luncheon for the body. Groups
also undertake individual service projects. Other small groups
focused on divorce recovery and codependence meet in 13-16
week sessions a few times each year as well.
All Small Groups welcome visitors - contact the leader or
host for directions!
